Kunitz Unit
That amount of enzyme which causes an increase of absorbance at 260nm of 0.001 per
minute at 25°C based on the method of Kunitz.
Dornase / Christensen Unit
The Dornase unit (also referred to as the Christensen unit) is that amount of
enzyme causing a decrease of one relative viscosity unit in a solution of highly
polymerised DNA in 10 minutes at 30°C from the relative viscosity of 4.0.
Under Faizymes conditions of assay,
one Kunitz unit is equivalent to approximately 20 Dornase / Christensen viscosity units. |
