Peroxidase = FaizymeThe combined knowledge of Faizymes management embraces more than 100 years experience in the extraction and purification of peroxidase. It is understandable that Faizyme is now ranked as one of the worlds largest and respected suppliers of this enzyme to the international market. Faizymes process facilities were custom designed for the extraction of multi-ton quantities of horseradish and the down-stream purification of the enzyme. Resulting from the introduction of innovative technology, Faizyme has optimised the enzyme yield and virtually eliminated batch by batch yield fluctuations. Improved technology and in-process controls has resulted in Faizymes manufacture of a peroxidase showing enhanced stability under all conditions tested. This is achieved without the addition of stabilisers. Faizyme contracts for the growing of its horseradish requirements with a number of farming enterprises in South Africa. Crops are regularly inspected and the enzyme content of the root is monitored during the growing cycle to provide guidance for harvesting of crops at the optimum stage for peroxidase production.
Horseradish Growing In addition to the five standard grades of purity listed in our specifications, Faizyme will also prepare peroxidase meeting customers specific requirements of activity and purity. Our activity is normally expressed in terms of guaiacol units. However, if preferred, activity will be quoted in terms of the activity unit used by the customer (e.g. 4-aminoantipyrine, o-dianisidine or purpurogallin units, etc.) After 24 months stability trials, Faizyme now also offers stable peroxidase in liquid form that is equivalent to the purity of Code 16002 with RZ Value > 2.0. Batches have shown no loss of activity over the 24-month period stored at 5°C and this is achieved without the addition of foreign stabilising agents. Additional information on this liquid preparation is available on request. Have a look at Determination of Peroxidase Purity Number (RZ Value) of HPLC Profile of Peroxidase Code 16001, RZ > 3.0. |
